A classic built-in breathes through the flip-up top grille; an integrated one, through the kickplate at the floor. Sub-Zero wants cabinet vents clear and the condenser cleaned every 6 to 12 months. Trim or a soffit against the grille defeats both.
Each door should clear the cabinets beside it and pull itself shut. A door brushing a filler strip, or a unit shoved back to sit flush, wears hinges and gasket.
New flooring around an old unit can leave it low, tilted, or with the kickplate trapped. Watch for a door that drifts open.
